BBL or Brazilian Butt Lift ( Buttock Enhancement )

What’s sexier and more youthful than a firm, shapely buttocks? Unfortunately, aging, heredity and weight fluctuations can stand in the way of achieving that goal. Thankfully, you can lift, contour, firm, correct proportional imbalances and increase the size of your butt with a Brazilian Butt Lift. The procedure uses your own fat and results in a prominent, perky buttocks as well as a more sensual body profile. Over the last few years, the buttocks has been no stranger to press coverage and this procedure has become extremely popular.

Brazilian Butt Lift is a procedure used to augment the shape and size of your buttocks without implants. It repositions the fat taken from different parts of your body, resulting in prominent, perky buttocks coupled with a sensual and curvaceous body silhouette.

During the procedure, excess fat is removed from your thighs, hips, abdomen, and lower back using liposuction. Some of the extracted fat is then strategically injected into your buttocks to enhance their contour and size.

As such, even though a Brazilian Butt Lift is primarily done to enhance the appearance of your butts, it can improve the proportions of your entire lower body. The procedure removes fat from various problem areas in your lower body and enhances the buttocks.

A Brazilian Butt Lift is a specialized fat transfer procedure that augments the size and shape of the buttocks without implants. Excess fat is removed from the hips, abdomen, lower back, or thighs with liposuction, and a portion of this fat is then strategically injected into the buttocks. The Brazilian Buttock Lift, more commonly known as a Brazilian Butt Lift or BBL, is an increasingly popular aesthetic procedure that helps improve the shape of your buttocks by injecting it with fat from other areas of the body. If you’re unhappy with the shape or size of your buttocks and would like to enhance the curves of your lower body, a Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery may be right for you.

Brazilian Butt Lift surgery can help overcome the effects of genetics by reshaping the buttocks and surrounding areas, such as the hips, lower back, and thighs. You might consider a Brazilian Butt Lift to:

  • Enhance the curves of your lower body
  • Reduce fat pockets on your hips, thighs or belly while adding fullness to the buttocks
  • Help clothing fit more attractively
  • Give a more youthful, aesthetically pleasing shape to flat buttocks
  • Enhance your overall proportions by improving balance between your upper and lower body

A Brazilian Butt Lift, now more recently referred to as SSBA (Safe Subcutaneous Buttock Augmentation), involves two procedures: liposuction and augmentation.

First, excess fat is removed via liposuction from areas such as the abdomen, hips, lower back, or thighs. A surgeon inserts a thin tube called a cannula, which is connected to a vacuum, for the extrication.

Next, the extracted fat is prepared for transfer, and injected into areas of the buttocks to enhance its shape and size. In some cases, a portion of the transferred fat may not take to the relocation, so surgeons may inject more than necessary to ensure results meet your expectations and goals. If a majority of the cells do not endure, regrafting may be necessary in the future. Although described as a so-called “lift,” the procedure doesn’t involve such a technique as those utilized in arm or thigh lifts. The surgery doesn’t address excess sagging or loose skin around the area, either.

What Does a Brazilian Butt Lift Do?

A Brazilian Butt Lift, also known as buttock augmentation with fat grafting, involves two procedures: liposuction and augmentation.

A Brazilian Butt Lift:

  • Naturally augments the butt with fat from your own body
  • Buttocks is shaped and contoured for a lifted, firmer, more youthful appearance
  • Simultaneously reduces fat pockets from your hips, thighs, belly, and lower back as well.
  • Improves the general proportion of the entire lower body.
  • Creates a sensual, curvy overall body profile
  • Allows you to wear attractive clothes.
  • Improves a general balance between the upper and lower body.
  • What’s the Difference Between a Brazilian Butt Lift & Butt Implants?

A Brazilian Butt Lift uses your excess fat to create a natural-looking bottom, while Buttock Implants involve the placement of silicone implants into your tush. The latter has been touted as the less natural-appearing option, and is more invasive. It also carries a higher risk of infection and capsular contracture, which occurs when the internal tissue and scarring squeezes and hardens the implant. The surgery may need to be completed more than once, since the implant can also become displaced.

Those with very low body fat percentage do not have enough fat to use for the transfer, however, and Butt Implants may be the only way to achieve desired results.

    What Is Recovery Like?

After surgery, follow the instructions of your plastic surgeon.

Typically, you won’t be permitted to sit or lie on your buttocks for two weeks—meaning you’ll need to sleep on your stomach or side, or stand. Pain will be minimal, though your surgeon will discuss and possibly prescribe pain medication. You can resume light daily activities after one week, but shouldn’t exercise or lift heavy objects.

After this period, your surgeon will evaluate whether you’ve healed enough to sit on your buttocks using a donut seat or pillows under your thighs. You cannot resume normal sitting for approximately eight weeks, and you can return to work in 10 to 14 days.

It will take up to six months to fully heal and see the final results. At the three-month mark, one can be fairly certain regarding the capacity of fat retention.
